With the second collaboration of Carhartt WIP x INVINCIBLE® with Shinsuke Nakada, Carhartt WIP went to Japan to have a wonderful conversation with the designer of this collaboration - Shinsuke Nakata, in which they talked about the rich historical archives of Carhartt WIP, the origins of Mr. Nakata with BEAMS and DAIWA PIER39, and the design ideas of this collaboration series.

Vans, the original action sports brand and advocate for creative expression, partners with Asia’s premiere brand and boutique, INVINCIBLE® to introduce the new collaboration collection “Gnarly Pack” inspired by skated-in Vans and classic American underground culture.

In skateboarding lingo, the term “gnarly” is used to describe anything that is awesome, amazing, difficult, or downright reckless, a perfect term that embodies the look and feel of the collection.

INVINCIBLE® has become a culture initiative in the region and has developed a well-established style through multiple collaborations with various brands. Looking through archive photography featuring aged and torn, skated-in Vans shoes and inspired by Vans’ heritage in skateboarding, art, music, and California street culture, INVINCIBLE® presents a collection featuring a paisley pattern executed with patchwork.

In this collection, the Vans Authentic is presented in black, but upon wear and tear, or a few meets and greets with the griptape, reveals an INVINCIBLE® and Vans monogram and a truly individual pair of shoes for the owner. The Sk8-Hi releases in a patchwork of black and white paisley monograms. Both silhouettes come with slightly distressed treatment throughout the upper, paying tribute to skateboarding and the process of a skater’s “gnarly” growth.

INVINCIBLE® x Vault by Vans “Gnarly Pack” collection will be available exclusively from INVINCIBLE®on July 1st and at select Vans stores worldwide beginning July 8th.
