INVINCIBLE® x Carhartt WIP’s Collaboration—Advanced Exploration Press Release

To mark the 15th anniversary of INVINCIBLE®, Carhartt WIP has collaborated with the Taiwanese retailer and brand to create a 7-piece capsule collection, which pursues the idea of constant evolution and reinvention of time-honored classics.

This time, the main inspiration of the crossover collection heavily centers on “Advanced Exploration”. INVINCIBLE®’s constant pursuit in progress and reinvention of classics can be observed in their past collaborations, giving them a whole new outlook as they explore the streetwear market. Carhartt WIP introduces brand new items to their collection every season, where improvements are made to the items with the prerequisite of maintaining their workwear style as this preserves the brand’s signature feature. Carhartt WIP’s philosophy of keeping their brand narrative and seeking evolution at the same time coincides with that of INVINCIBLE®’s, which was also the critical factor that led to their collaboration for the first time.

For this collaboration, INVINCIBLE® has worked with the Japanese designer Shinsuke Nakada, who is known for work that excavates elements of classic Americana while also reinterpreting brands’ DNA to offer fresh perspectives. For this collection, Nakada has parlayed Carhartt WIP’s utilitarian archetypes into a series of garments that take inspiration from outdoor gear and Taiwan’s shrimp fishing culture.

The collection, joined with several new items, has a tag design which continues its use of INVINCIBLE®’s tornado logo and combines Carhartt WIP’s signature C logo, showcasing the unique feature of this collaboration. Chore Coat, the classic workwear by Carhartt WIP, has pockets brilliantly deconstructed from Detroit Jacket and then used again on the item, delivering a simple, urban-leisure visual perception. The coat even comes with a retractable hood, so as it still has the classic look, it is an outfit that fits multiple occasions. The classic Double Knee Pant comes with a better design to add a bit of outdoorsy element to the workwear. With a different pattern and shape design, the item has a looser cutting, large pockets at the knees, and the waist is replaced with elastic waistband to deliver more comfort.

Simple color tones and cutting run throughout the entire collection to provide the most straightforward perception and definition to one’s style. In addition, ingenious little details of the collection mingle in daily life, perfectly manifesting the pragmatic aesthetics of both brands.

INVINCIBLE® 15th Anniversary with Shinsuke Nakada will be available from March 4th via INVINCIBLE® stores and its online shop, as well as select Carhartt WIP stores and carhartt-wip.com.
